Accommodation
Stylish and utterly comfortable, our interiors are deliberately minimal. As in ancient Buddhist meditation caves in the mountains surrounding Santani, this lack of distraction allows you to focus your mind solely on slowing it down.
By blurring the distinction between inside and out, these private retreats invite you to rest, relax or meditate while inhaling the pure fresh air and taking in the pristine, truly inspiring scenery around you. To further support your efforts to ‘reset,’ our rooms do not have television. While digital detox is a key component of the Santani experience, we do offer in-room WiFi on demand.
Each room features up-cycled rubber wood lounge chairs, recycled teakwood safari chairs on the balcony, extra-large pillows, 100% cotton, high thread count sheets, coffee and tea making facilities, personal safe and two closets.
We have 16 Mountain View Chalets that overlook the surrounding mountain range. 16 stand-alone bedrooms extending to a balcony and approximately 500 square feet.
We also have 4 Garden View Chalets that are designed for families with children (above 12) and situated in an area with a small paddy field on one side and a tea plantation on the other.

Dining
Santani wellness cuisine and food philosophy are based on the “Rasa Haya” which means six tastes which are Sweet, Sour, Bitter Salty, Pungent and Astringent. According to Ayurveda each of these tastes have a vital role to play in our physiology, health, and well-being.
Meals are served in our elevated restaurant with a capacity for 60 guests, where we take a personalised approach to gourmet wellness cuisine. In place of a printed menu, Santani’s experienced internationally trained chefs prepare your meals according to a custom meal plan created by the Ayurvedic doctor.
Spa Cuisine
Yes
The Santani kitchen is striving towards being self-sufficient and to produce it’s own quality organic ingredients for our gourmet wellness cuisine.
They have commenced their own dairy farm in the Natuwakelle Estate and now have a supply of fresh milk and produce their own butter. Producing their own cheese will come soon.
The Executive Chef also happens to be an expert in local medicinal plants and herbs and is on the road to making some rare and authentic dishes with medicinal plants found on the property.
At Santani stives to give guests the best dining experience they can provide and what better way than produce straight from our fertile lands in the hills of Sri Lanka.

Conscious Actions
Beyond the spa and wellness treatments, activities and cuisine, other Conscious Actions are taken to further benefit you and others:
- Community Giving
- Environmental Sustainability
Santani has been designed according to the highest sustainability and eco-standards. We spent more than two years searching for this pristine location because we understood humans heal and thrive most effectively where nature meets intelligent, sustainable design. The property was built using reclaimed wood and rooms are built for natural ventilation and are air-condition free – far healthier for you, and better for the environment, because this saves over 70% of energy compared to an air-conditioned hotel.
- Organic Products or Cuisine
The Santani kitchen is striving towards being self-sufficient and to produce our own quality organic ingredients for our gourmet wellness cuisine.
We have commenced our own dairy farm in the Natuwakelle Estate and now have our very own supply of fresh milk and produce our own butter. Producing our own cheese is also in the works.
Our Executive Chef also happens to be an expert in local medicinal plants and herbs, and is on the road to making some rare and authentic dishes with medicinal plants found on our property.
At Santani we want our guests to have the best dining experience we can provide, and what better than produce straight from our fertile lands in the hills of Sri Lanka.
